How to add a new user in Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Ads

If you need to give account access to someone – a new team member or a third party supplier – it is much better to give them their own direct access using the methods shown here than to share your credentials with them. Setting them up as their own user means you can delete them later, control specifically what level of access they have, and have an audit trail of who has done what. This video shows you how and there are written instructions below it.

How to add a new user to Google Analytics

  • Go toย https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/ย and log into your account
  • Click on the admin cog in the bottom left hand corner
  • Select โ€˜Account access managementโ€™ from the โ€˜Account options in the middle of the page
  • Click the blue plus button in the top right hand corner
  • Select โ€˜add usersโ€™
  • Enter the email address of the person you want to add (it must be an email that is associated with a Google account)
  • Select the role that you want them to haveย 
  • Click โ€˜Addโ€™ in the top right hand corner

How to add a new user to Google Search Console

  • Go toย https://search.google.com/search-console/aboutย and click โ€˜start nowโ€™
  • Click โ€˜settings towards the bottom of the menu on the left of the screen
  • Click โ€˜users and permissionsโ€™ in the middle of the screen
  • Click the blue โ€˜add userโ€™ button
  • Enter the email address of the person you want to add
  • Set the level of permission you want them to have
  • Click add

How to add a new user to Google Ads

  • Go toย https://ads.google.com/home/ย and log into your account
  • Click on โ€˜adminโ€™ at the bottom of the menu down the left hand side
  • Select โ€˜access and securityโ€™ ย ย ย ย 
  • Click the blue plus button
  • Enter the email address of the person you want to add
  • Tick the top of the column that represents the level of access you want them to have
  • Click โ€˜send invitationโ€™
